An important change was announced for all UH Zoom Users. Please note, UH Zoom licenses fall under the more restrictive Zoom FERPA privacy policy. Effective Sunday, April 5, 2020, Zoom is enabling meeting passwords for ALL meetings.  Previously scheduled meetings will have passwords automatically added (including your Personal Meeting Room/ID). Zoom recommends resending your meeting invitations to all participants prior to the start of your meeting.  The full message from Zoom is posted at the UH Zoom blog at http://go.hawaii.edu/ARL .

Zoom meeting passwords and the Zoom waiting room feature are generally considered best practices for enhanced meeting security.  For more information on Zoom meeting passwords, including locating and altering a meeting password, as well as disabling this feature in your account please visit http://go.hawaii.edu/IRA .

For further assistance, please contact the UH Online Innovation Center at http://go.hawaii.edu/mrA or the UH ITS help desk at http://go.hawaii.edu/7RA .

For all thesis and dissertation defenses, in addition to above, please ensure you’re using the latest version of Zoom. Also, while publicizing your defense via social media is helpful, due to the security issues related to Zoom, consider only sharing the link with your program and via your school/college listserv. The UH academic calendar should also include it via your defense announcement.
