For security reasons, official UH Mānoa transcripts must be ordered online through the National Student Clearinghouse. Official transcripts bear the UH Mānoa seal, signature of the University Registrar, and are either printed on security paper (to protect against unauthorized duplication and alteration) or on a secure certified PDF.
Official transcripts must be requested individually for each academic level (Undergraduate, Graduate, Law, and Medicine). When ordering an official transcript for a specific level, it will exclusively feature the coursework, grades, GPA, and degrees earned within that specific level; for instance, an Undergraduate transcript will not display Graduate-level coursework. Additionally, please note that official UH Mānoa transcripts will only show units, grades, grade-point average (GPA), and degree(s) taken or earned at UH Mānoa only. If you attended other campuses within the UH System, you must request your official transcripts directly from each UH System campus Registrar or Records Office separately.

Uploading Attachments
Transcript attachments may be submitted with your online request through the National Student Clearinghouse. Acceptable attachments include AMCAS, PharmCAS, NursingCAS, MCATL, LSAC, and Common Application forms. Do not include attachments such as, resumes, cover-letters, or other similar documents with your transcript request. We reserve the right not to include certain documents with your transcripts and we do not assume responsibility regarding the legibility of your document.
*Effective July 1, 2024, in compliance with U.S. Department of Education regulations, UH Mānoa will no longer withhold official transcripts due to unpaid student debt, subject to revisions in AP 8.731 – Student Accounts Receivable and Delinquent Financial Obligations. Transcripts with non-financial transcript restrictions will not be released until the hold has been lifted.
Delivery Methods
You can check the status of your order online through the National Student Clearinghouse. Enter the transcript Order Number sent in your order confirmation email and the email address used to place the order.
Electronic Transcripts
eTranscripts can be sent to any valid email address in a secure certified PDF format or through the National Student Clearinghouse’s Electronic Transcript Exchange (ETX) service when available. These transcripts are considered official documents and can be validated as they have been digitally signed and certified by the Office of the Registrar.
Email or Electronic Transcript Exchange
Once the eTranscript has been processed and sent, you and/or the recipient will have 30 days from the first day the transcript is opened or accessed to view and save the PDF transcript. For requests sent directly to third-parties (schools, employers, organizations), we are not responsible for whether or not your recipient retrieves or accepts the transcript. It is strongly recommended that you contact your recipient beforehand to notify them of your request.
It is your responsibility to ensure that the recipient accepts electronic PDF transcripts and that you enter the recipient’s accurate email address as you will be charged for each request, valid or not. Once ordered, the recipient’s email address cannot be changed. If the request needs to be sent to a different email address, a new order must be placed. Charges for eTranscripts are nonrefundable.
Paper Transcript
All paper transcripts released directly to the student will be stamped, “Issued to Student” in a sealed envelope to advise third parties that the transcript has been in your personal possession. These transcripts are still considered official as long as the seal on the envelope is not broken. It is your responsibility to ensure that the mailing address or recipient information provided is valid and complete. Once a request is processed, the recipient’s contact information can no longer be changed. If the request needs to be sent to a different mailing address, a new order must be placed. Once a transcript leaves the printing factory or our office, the delivery becomes the sole responsibility of the U.S. Postal Service, local Postal Service or delivery courier. Allow sufficient time for transit.
Paper transcript orders must be claimed or retrieved within 30-days. After this period, any unclaimed or undeliverable requests will no longer be available for pick up. A new order will be required in order to have your transcripts reissued.
