Prior to requesting certification, please look at the Class Schedule Guidelines page.
Once you have finalized your registration, complete the Enrollment Certification Request Form (ECRF). We cannot certify your class enrollment to the VA without this form, so make sure to complete it each semester.

Timeline
ECRFs are processed within 2 weeks in the order they are received. Contacting the Office of the Registrar does not change this date or expedite the processing. It is your responsibility to ensure proper and timely submission of your ECRF each semester. While late ECRFs can be certified, it does not guarantee that financial holds will be removed from your student account.
A notification will be sent to your hawaii.edu email when your UH Mānoa classes have been certified to the VA. If you are taking classes at a secondary school, you will receive a separate notification from that campus.
Undergraduate Students
Instructions:
- Review your semester plan in STAR GPS.
We can only certify classes that show as being in plan or required for your degree program. Classes that do not show as being in plan will not be certified to the VA. - If a required class is not in plan, contact your academic advisor.
Your school/college academic advisor must update your plan in STAR GPS before we can certify the class. - Resubmit the ECRF if you make changes to your class schedule.
You must resubmit the ECRF if you make any changes to your class schedule. Keep in mind that changes to your schedule from your original submission may result in you owing back money to the VA and/or UH Mānoa.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Spring 2026 Certification: For the Spring 2026 semester, certification requests will be accepted starting January 5, 2026 after the UH student information system upgrade is complete. Please return to this page on January 5, and complete your request via a NEW VA Enrollment Certification Request Form (ECRF).
