Transcripts

For security reasons, official UH Mānoa transcripts must be ordered online through the National Student Clearinghouse. Official transcripts bear the UH Mānoa seal, signature of the University Registrar, and are either printed on security paper (to protect against unauthorized duplication and alteration) or on a secure certified PDF. An official transcript is a comprehensive record of all courses (undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs), units, grades, grade-point average (GPA), and degree(s) earned at UH Mānoa only. If you attended another campus within the UH system, please contact that campus directly to obtain your official transcript.

Official Transcripts

Electronic (eTranscripts) NEW

UH Mānoa now offers eTranscripts, which can be sent to any valid email address in a secure certified PDF format. These transcripts are considered official documents and can be validated as they have been digitally signed and certified by the Office of the Registrar.

This is the fastest and most cost-effective way to send and/or receive an official transcript. Orders are typically processed within minutes, but may take up to a few hours during peak periods.

It is your responsibility to ensure that the recipient accepts electronic PDF transcripts and that you enter the recipient’s accurate email address as you will be charged for each request, valid or not. Once ordered, the recipient’s email address cannot be changed. If the request needs to be sent to a different email address, a new order must be placed. Charges for eTranscripts are nonrefundable.

Once the eTranscript has been processed, you and/or the recipient will have 30 days from the first day the transcript is opened or accessed to view, print, and save the PDF transcript.

eTranscripts are not available for anyone who attended the University prior to 1986. At this time these will be sent via First-Class USPS mail.

Paper Transcripts

All transcripts released to the student will be stamped, “Issued to Student” in a sealed envelope to advise third parties that the transcript has been in your personal possession. These transcripts are still considered official as long as the seal is not broken.

Transcript Key

The transcript key located on the back of an official transcript explains details such as course attributes, the university’s grading system, course numbering system, and FERPA re-disclosure information.

Spring 2020 Response to COVID-19: Due to the disruption of the global public COVID-19 health pandemic during Spring 2020, an emergency credit/no credit (CR/NC) grading basis was instituted. Students were permitted to use the emergency basis to satisfy academic degree requirements.
For the purposes of the emergency grading basis, CR is equivalent to a grade of C or better and will not be used in students’ GPA calculations. Students using this grading basis will have ‘Semester Disrupted by COVID-19’ noted on their transcript for this semester.
