The 2025 Hawaii-ASM (HI-ASM) Spring Meeting was held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the Marine Science Building, UH Manoa. The keynote speaker was Dr. Michael Norris, Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Leader of the Pathogen Analysis and Translational Health Group in the School of Life Sciences, UH Manoa. Dr. Morris, whose research examines the ecologic, immunologic and pathogenic mechanisms of infectious diseases, presented a lecture on “Genome-wide characterization of host-pathogen interactions”. The meeting was attended by 70 students, faculty, and scientists and featured oral and poster presentations by undergraduate and graduate students from UH Manoa College of Tropical Agriculture & Human Resources (CTAHR), UH Manoa John A Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM), UH Manoa School of Life Sciences (SOLS), UH Hilo Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy (DKICP), and UH Maui College.
Awards were presented by HI-ASM President Rosie Alegado for the best poster and oral presentations in several student categories:
