The Department offers graduate programs leading to the Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Tropical Medicine, emphasizing basic, clinical and translational research, and a graduate certificate (GCERT) in Tropical Medicine. Core courses for MS and PhD students are taken during the first year of the program. Following completion of the qualifying examination at the start of the second year, training focuses on the mentored research project and on additional advanced courses in the area of specialization.
