Students and alumni from the University of Hawai’i are invited to participate in a virtual info session to hear about a unique U.S. Department of State graduate fellowship opportunity.
The William D. Clarke, Sr. Diplomatic Security (Clarke DS) Fellowship, a two-year graduate fellowship program provides up to $42,000 annually in academic funding for a two-year master’s degree program, two summer practicums with stipends, professional development and mentorship, and culminates in an appointment as a Foreign Service Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) Special Agent.
If you are thinking about pursuing a master’s degree starting in fall 2024, and you are interested in a career as a Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) Special Agent in the Foreign Service, join us on Thursday, September 7 from 4:00 to 4:30 pm (HST) to hear an overview of the benefits and eligibility requirements. Plus, you’ll have plenty of time to ask questions.
Clarke DS Fellowship Virtual Info Session: University of Hawaii

With the goal of attracting top technology talent and increasing diversity in the Foreign Service, the program values varied backgrounds, including ethnic, racial, gender, and geographic diversity. Women, members of minority groups underrepresented in the Foreign Service, and those with financial need, are encouraged to apply.
Upon successful completion of the program and State Department entry requirements, Clarke DS Fellows receive an appointment in the Foreign Service as a Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) Special Agent in the Bureau of Diplomatic Security – the federal law enforcement and security bureau of the U.S. Department of State. DSS Special Agents travel the world in their careers, leading and managing U.S. diplomatic mission security programs, conducting transnational criminal investigations, working on anti-trafficking task forces, and more.
The application for the 2024 cohort of the Clarke DS Fellowship is open July 18 through October 1, 2023. Register today to hear about this unique opportunity to receive academic funding for your master’s degree program while preparing for a career in the Foreign Service as a DSS Special Agent.

The CIA has numerous full-time positions as well as undergraduate and graduate internships and scholarships.
There are opportunities for foreign travel, language training, and overseas postings. CIA provides competitive salaries, relocation expenses, and student loan repayment programs.
Representatives will provide information regarding the CIA and the variety of career and paid internship opportunities available. The presentation will include details about application processes and suggestions for making yourself competitive for employment, including tips for writing cover letters and resumes, and preparing for an interview with the CIA. Undergraduates and Graduates of all academic disciplines are encouraged to attend.
All positions require US citizenship, relocation to the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and a top secret security clearance.
