Before beginning your senior project, all Honors students write a proposal. The proposal is approved by your faculty mentor and the Honors director. It is a 10-12 page paper that clearly explains what your project is, its format, its contributions, and your methods and timeline in completing it.
A proposal-writing class is highly recommended. Not only will you write your proposal, you’ll also get a significant head-start on your senior project work. Proposal-writing classes include:
- HON 495: best for students writing a research thesis
- HON 499: best for students planning to complete a creative thesis or portfolio
- A proposal-writing class in your major, for example HIST 396 or ECE 396.
