ALOHA!

Lyon Arboretum is part of the University of Hawaiʻi and a public botanical garden. We are nestled in the back of Mānoa Valley, just five miles from the bustle of Waikiki. The Arboretum has over seven miles of hiking trails and boasts more than 6,000 taxa of tropical and sub-tropical plants on our nearly 200 acres.

VISIT THE ARBORETUM

Please read the following information

  • Open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 am until 3 pm, closed on weekends, State and Federal holidays . 
  • Admission is free, but donations are greatly appreciated. The suggested donation amount is $10 per person.
  • Reservations are required.
  • Reservations open only one week in advance on the Friday before.
  • Organized groups (Schools, Homeschools, Mommy Groups, Churches, Business groups, etc.) with 8+ participants are REQUIRED to make arrangements with the Lyon Education Department (email Lyonedu@hawaii.edu.

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND UPCOMING CLOSURES

Plant Sale! Reserved spots sold out! Walk-ins only (see times below)

We filled all of our reserved time slots. Walk-ins will be allowed in from 11:30 am. Walk-ins must park OUTSIDE the Arboretum at Paradise Park (parking fees apply) or in the neighborhood (free).

Dates: Friday, December 6th – Saturday December 7th

Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Whether you’re looking for a festive wreath, handmade gifts, or some unique flowering plants for the holidays, we’ve got you covered! Vendors will have orchids, house plants, tropical ornamentals, ti, Hoya, natives, ferns, succulents, air plants, carnivorous plants, and a variety of other handmade crafts and art available at the sale, and right in time before Christmas! Come support local nurseries and artists by doing your holiday shopping with us this year.

Proceeds from the sale help to support U.H. Lyon Arboretum.
