If you need any assistive help with documents on our website, please call the Education Office at 808-988-0461.

Parking Accessibility

General parking at the Arboretum is limited. There is one (1) accessible parking space in each of the following areas: the Education Department Office, the Grounds Department Office, and the Micropropagation Laboratory. There are two (2) accessible parking spaces at te Visitors Center parking lot. Vehicles parking in these accessible parking stalls must display an official accessible parking placard.

Building Accessibility

Wheelchair-accessible entrances are available to the following buildings/facilities: the Visitors Center and Gift Shop, the Upper and Lower Classrooms, the Education Department Office, the Marilyn Mueller Goss Children’s Learning Center, the Grounds Department Office and the Micropropagation Laboratory.

Garden and Trail Accessibility

Given our sloping landscape, tropical weather and extensive acreage, the majority of our trails are not wheelchair-accessible. Gardens that can be viewed from the paved sidewalks surrounding our Visitors Center include the Betty Ho, Stemmermann, and Young Memorial Gardens, as well as the Mapes Garden. See Our Gardens Page for more information.

Future Improvements to Accessibility

The Arboretum hopes to develop accessible and user-friendly trails throughout the Arboretum in the near future.
