Dr. Jason Newland

Dr. Jason Newland is a Professor of Pediatrics and the Henry G. Cramblett Endowed Chair in Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He is also the Division Chief, Infectious Diseases, Department of Pediatrics at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He will be the Visiting Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, UH JABSOM from April 30 to May 1, 2025. Attached is the flyer with his presentations.

Dr. Newland is the founder and leader of SHARPS (Sharing Antimicrobial Reports for Pediatric Stewardship) Collaborative that has promoted antimicrobial stewardship initiatives across pediatric programs and hospitals nationally and internationally. He is the program organizer of the Annual International Pediatric Antimicrobial Stewardship Conference. He has held several grants for the research of antimicrobial utilization, resistance and stewardship initiatives. In addition, he has been an invited speaker locally, nationally and internationally, trained and mentored many fellows, residents and students. He is currently the Vice-Chair of the Presidential Advisory Council on Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria and member of the Emerging Infection Network Executive Committee. He is active in the Pediatric ID Society serving on the Board of Directors
