Personal Statement
Dr. Chang is a Professor of Tropical Medicine and Chair of the Tropical Medicine Graduate Program. She joined the department in 1986 as a research scientist in the malaria vaccine development program and has been a principal investigator on research projects on malaria immunology and vaccine development, the mechanism of action of immune adjuvants, and metabolomic analysis of P. falciparum-infected erythrocytes.  Dr. Chang also has an interest in One Health and vaccination education, including COVID-19 vaccination.  Dr. Chang teaches graduate courses in infectious disease immunology and immunopathogenesis and lectures on topics related to immunology and vaccination for graduate and medical students.
