Recruiting Student Participants for Economic Experiments
Researchers study economic decision-making in a computer lab on campus or online. Earn money just for showing up on time, then earn more based on your decisions during the experiment! Participants make individual or group choices, which determine their payoffs. These experiments are fun and educational, and no prior knowledge of economics is required! Duration: 1 to 3 hours. All experiments have been approved by the Human Studies Program. To participate, register at: https://manoa.hawaii.edu/econexp/. Apply Now! Spring 2023 Women in Pacific Studies (WiPS) Graduate Student Cohort
Apply today to join the Spring 2023 Women in Pacific Studies (WiPS) Graduate Student Cohort, hosted by Dr. Monica LaBriola of the Department of History. The WiPS Graduate Student Cohort aims to create a supportive work and professionalization space for UH Mānoa students pursuing graduate degrees in Pacific Islands studies and related fields to set and accomplish academic and professional goals. The application deadline is November 30, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. HST. The project is sponsored by Student Equity, Excellence & Diversity (SEED), Department of History, Center for Pacific Islands Studies (CPIS), Graduate Division, and the East-West Center Pacific Islands Development Program (PIDP).
Founder Region Fellowship for Doctoral Women
Soroptimist International’s Founder Region Fellowship aims to advance the status of women through financial support to doctoral candidates. Since 1948, Soroptimist has awarded over $1.5 million to 350 women. Recipients have the potential to become leaders in their fields where women are often under-represented. Awardees’ disciplines may also seek to improve the status of women, girls, or society. International students may apply. Deadline is January 10, 2023. Frances Davis Teaching Assistant Award Nominations Open
The Frances Davis Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching for a Graduate Assistant recognizes excellence in undergraduate teaching by a TA at UH Mānoa who demonstrates exemplary instructional activities. TAs with a teaching assignment within the previous two academic years are eligible to be nominated. Consider nominating a TA to show your appreciation and have them recognized. Nominations are due by December 1, 2022.
Peter V. Garrod Graduate Mentoring Award Nominations Open
Graduate Division and the Graduate Council invite nominations for the Peter V. Garrod Distinguished Graduate Mentoring Award, recognizing one faculty member who demonstrates an outstanding career of mentoring graduate students at UH Mānoa. A nomination from both a student and a faculty member must be submitted in order for a nominee to be considered. Nominations are due by December 1, 2022.
UROP Opportunities
Presentation Funding for Undergraduate Students ($2000–$5000)
UROP coordinates and promotes research and creative work opportunities for UHM undergraduate students in all disciplines. UROP invites students who are conducting or have conducted faculty-mentored research or creative work to submit a proposal for Presentation Funding, which provides funds to present their project or perform at a local, national, or international conference/event, in-person or virtually.
