Student Semester Parking Permit Reservations

Spring 2026 Student Permits: Permit reservations for Spring 2026 now available.


ELIGIBILITY

Permit reservations are available on a first-come, first-serve basis for all students who complete class registration for the semester. As a reminder, class registration timetables are set by the Office of the Registrar and generally follow class standing (Graduate students, then seniors, then juniors, etc…). Students must be taking a minimum of 12 credits (undergraduate) or 9 credits (graduate) at UH Mānoa – non-Outreach College credits only – to be eligible for a semester permit. Students with early registration must wait until their designated class registration date/ time, as listed on the Office of Registrar website.

PERMIT VALIDITY

Fall 2025 permits remain valid through January 11, 2026, the day before the Spring 2026 semester begins. There is no grace period after this date.

SPRING 2026 PERMIT AVAILABILITY

LIMITED PERMITS AVAILABLE. If additional permits become available due to cancellations or system adjustments, they will be posted here on the first day of instruction, Monday, January 12, 2026 and will be offered on a first-come, first-served starting at 8am.

HOW TO RESERVE A PERMIT

Follow the steps below to reserve a student car/moped/carpool semester permit.

 

STEP 1

REGISTER FOR SPRING 2026 COURSES

Complete course registration in STAR GPS.

Note: You will not be able to proceed to Step 2 if you have not completed course registration.

STEP 2

LOG IN TO PERMIT RESERVATION SYSTEM

During the reservation period, click the Reserve Permit link below to access the Permit Reservation site. Log in with your UH username and password.

STEP 3

SELECT PERMIT AND SUBMIT

Select permit type from the list of available permits. On the next page, select zone then click Register Now.

Eligible students may purchase only one automobile permit or one motorcycle/moped permit per semester.

ⓘ Note: Permit will not display under options if it is fully reserved. Those with early registration privileges or accommodations must reserve their permit at the time they would have normally registered.

STEP 4

PROCEED TO ONLINE PAYMENT

On Monday, December 1st, you will receive an email with purchase information. You must update your personal information, link a vehicle to your account and pay for your permit no later than January 9, 2026 or your reservation will be cancelled.

STEP 5

PICK UP YOUR PERMIT

Permit distribution will take place in person for the Spring 2026 semester.

You will be required to show proof of identification at the time of permit pickup, so please be sure to bring your UH Mānoa Student ID. If you selected a permit restricted to student housing residents, you will also need to show proof of residency at the time of pickup.

  • Pickup Dates: Monday, January 5, 2026; Tuesday, January 6, 2026; Wednesday, January 7, 2026
  • Pickup Time: 9:00AM – 3:00PM
  • Pickup Location: Art 132 (Art Auditorium)

If you miss the pickup period at the Art Auditorium, permits must be picked up at the Commuter Services Office (QLC 014) beginning Thursday, January 8, 2026. Office Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 11:30am; 12:30pm – 4:00pm, excluding weekends and observed State Holidays

STEP 6

DISPLAY YOUR PERMIT

Window cling permits should be placed on the driver’s side of the lower left corner of your car windshield. Please move window cling to any other vehicle you may use to drive and park with on campus.

Moped/Motorcycle stickers should be placed on front left handlebar. If unable to use handlebar, please place sticker near rear license plate.

FAQS

Refunds are prorated based on the date the permit is physically returned to the Commuter Services Business Office. Please fill out this return form prior to your visit. You may submit the form via email or bring a printed copy along with your permit. If you have not picked up your permit, you may simply email or physically submit the form to start the refund process.
A limited quantity of student permits (approximately 1,200) are made available for reservation upon successful completion of class registration for the semester. Students’ home institution must be UH Mānoa, and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours of classes (undergraduate) or 9 credit hours (graduate) at UH Mānoa – non Outreach College credits only. This process is based on class standing (i.e. seniors register first, then juniors, etc). Those with early registration accommodations will be able to reserve their permit at the same time they would have registered without said accommodations.
No, if you are caught selling, or allowing a friend to use a permit, it is considered an illegal transfer and you may be referred to the Office of Student Conduct, in addition to losing certain parking rights.
No, if you make a photocopy of a permit, alter a permit, or create a counterfeit permit a citation for “Illegal permit” will be issued, the vehicle will be subject to tow, and you will be referred to the Office of Student Conduct. Those cited for “Illegal Permit” violations will lose access to certain parking rights on the UHM campus.
Only the permit holder can add their registered vehicle to their permit. Permits are non transferable and the permit must be displayed when the permit is parked on campus.
