Library Treasures Scholarships AY 2022–2023
The University of Hawaiʻi Library at Mānoa is offering for the academic year of 2022–2023 Library Treasures Scholarships. Students in any discipline and at any level of study are invited to submit proposals of projects that involve the use of the UHM Library’s collections, and whose final outcomes will result in the production of either research or creative pieces. Proposed projects may be an integral part of faculty-guided undergraduate or graduate course-related activities, such as those required in research seminars, labs, and creative media. The scholarships will be given to the best proposals with an award amount of up to $400 per proposal.
International Graduate Student Conference Call for Abstracts
The East-West Center invites graduate students and young professionals from all fields to submit abstracts for the 22nd annual International Graduate Student Conference. The February 2023 conference, Recovery and Resilience in a Changing World, will focus on broadening the understanding and analysis of challenges pertaining to the Asia-Pacific region. Submission deadline for abstracts and a non-technical summary for presentations or poster talks is September 30, 2022.
AAUW Honolulu Career and Leadership Development Grant
The American Association of University Women – Honolulu Branch offers grants up to $4,000 to female graduate students and early career academics to enhance and improve their careers, and share research at conferences. Funds may be used for travel, registration fees, transportation, professional development activities, and more. Deadline is October 31, 2022.
East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship
The East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship provides funding for graduate students with a commitment to the Asia Pacific region to pursue a graduate degree at UH Mānoa and participate in residential, educational, and leadership development programs at the East-West Center. The fellowship is open to students from the United States and most countries in Asia and the Pacific. It covers the cost of tuition, fees, books, housing in an East-West Center dormitory, and partial funding towards meals, health insurance, and incidental expenses for up to two years. Deadline to apply is December 1, 2022 for the 2023–2024 academic year.
Enter your bright idea in the UH Breakthrough Innovation Challenge
The Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship, in partnership with the College of Engineering and the School of Law, is hosting the 2022 UH Breakthrough Innovation Challenge. Students who enter this entrepreneurial competition will describe their idea in a 2-minute video entry. Qualifying finalists will receive business coaching, and present their idea to a live audience for the chance to win up to $1,000. This Challenge is open to all current, degree-seeking UH students from any discipline of study. Registration is open at https://pace.shidler.hawaii.edu/bic

UROP coordinates and promotes research and creative work opportunities for UHM undergraduate students in all disciplines. UROP invites students who are conducting or have conducted faculty-mentored research or creative work to submit a proposal for Presentation Funding, which provides funds to present their project or perform at a local, national, or international conference/event, in-person or virtually.
