WHEN CAMPS ARE OFFERED
Lyon Arboretum offers nature day camps for keiki in kindergarten through 6th grade (ages 5 – 11) during the following Hawai’i State DOE breaks:
- Fall Camp: 1 week session
- Spring Camp: 1 week session
- Summer Camp: 2 weeks; Families can sign up for one or both sessions
Camp each day runs 8:30 am – 2:30 pm.
CAMP ACTIVITIES
The camps are for children who enjoy spending time outdoors and won’t mind the occasional rain among other conditions that visitors experience at the Arboretum. Most of the time will be spent outdoors, walking the grounds, gardening, and a visit or two to ʻAihualama Stream and waterfall located in the Arboretum. Nature-based art projects and cultural activities are offered at the camps.
COST
Friends of Lyon Arboretum Members: $300.00 per week, per child
Non Members: $350.00 per week, per child.
For more information about the Friends of Lyon Arboretum, please refer to their website.
GROUP SIZE
The group size for our camps are small. We normally do not have more than 15 children in a camp session. Although we would love to accommodate more children, we keep the group size small to ensure safety and so each camper gets plenty of attention.
