Personal Statement
Dr Ndhlovu’s research focuses on understanding how HIV affects the immune system and how this will inform potential clinical applications in balancing strategies to slow the progression in HIV infection and optimize functional status and quality of life outcomes. Dr. Ndhlovu completed postdoctoral fellowships at Tokyo Medical and Dental University, Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine, Gladstone Institute of Virology and Immunology (San Francisco, CA), and University of California San Francisco before joining the University of Hawaii as an Assistant Professor at the John A Burns School of Medicine in 2011.
