Mānoa Opportunities
Hawaiʻi Community Foundation Common Application for Scholarships
Annually, Hawaiʻi Community Foundation distributes over $7 million to deserving students, seeking undergraduate and graduate degrees. In 2021, the average scholarship award was over $6,000 per student. Hawaiʻi Community Foundation’s Common Application for 2023–2024 is now open. Apply by February 15, 2023 at 4:00 PM Hawaii Standard Time.
RCUH Doctoral Student Fellowship
The Research Corporation of the University of Hawaiʻi Graduate Fellowship supports full-time, doctoral students enrolled in a Graduate Division program. Applicants must be in good academic standing. Funds may be used towards costs associated with attendance, including dissertation completion and will be disbursed in the 2023–2024 academic year. Students may apply via the STAR Scholarship site and use keywords “Research Corporation” to search for the application. Deadline to apply is February 15, 2023.
UH Mānoa Graduate Student Fellowships
The Dai Ho Chun Fund for Graduate Fellowships supports outstanding graduate students in good academic standing who are enrolled at least part-time in any Graduate Division program. Funds may be used for travel if all institutional balances have been paid. Fellowship will be administered for the 2023–2024 school year. Students may apply via the STAR Scholarship site and use keywords “Dai Ho Chun” to search for the application. Deadline to apply is February 15, 2023.
Frances Davis Teaching Assistant Award Nominations Open
The Frances Davis Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching for a Graduate Assistant recognizes excellence in undergraduate teaching by a TA at UH Mānoa who demonstrates exemplary instructional activities. TAs with a teaching assignment within the previous two academic years are eligible to be nominated. Consider nominating a TA to show your appreciation and have them recognized. Nominations are due by December 1, 2022.
Peter V. Garrod Graduate Mentoring Award Nominations Open
Graduate Division and the Graduate Council invite nominations for the Peter V. Garrod Distinguished Graduate Mentoring Award, recognizing one faculty member who demonstrates an outstanding career of mentoring graduate students at UH Mānoa. A nomination from both a student and a faculty member must be submitted in order for a nominee to be considered. Nominations are due by December 1, 2022.
UROP Opportunities
Presentation Funding for Undergraduate Students ($2000–$5000)
UROP coordinates and promotes research and creative work opportunities for UHM undergraduate students in all disciplines. UROP invites students who are conducting or have conducted faculty-mentored research or creative work to submit a proposal for Presentation Funding, which provides funds to present their project or perform at a local, national, or international conference/event, in-person or virtually.
