Spring 2023 Mānoa Political Internships
The Mānoa Political Internship program (MPIN) offers prestigious federal and state government internships with achievement scholarships to UH Mānoa undergraduate students of all majors. For Spring 2023, full-time internships are available with the offices of Hawaiʻi’s congressional delegation in Washington, D.C., the offices of the Hawaiʻi Governor and Lieutenant Governor, Honolulu Prosecutor and Public Defender. Part-time internships are also available with the local offices of Hawaiʻi’s congressional delegation. Eligibility: Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA; minimum junior standing for full-time and sophomore standing for part-time internships. Application: To be submitted through the UH STAR Scholarship System. IBUILD Graduate Research Fellowship
The goal of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Innovation in Buildings (IBUILD) Graduate Research Fellowship Program is to strengthen the pool of well-trained, diverse graduate student scholars who are equipped for research-intensive careers in fields supporting the larger mission of building energy efficiency. IBUILD Fellows receive a $35,000 stipend, tuition support, and funding for health insurance, travel, and materials and supplies to conduct research at their home institution demonstrating relevance to building energy efficiency. Application deadline is December 2, 2023.
Founder Region Fellowship for Doctoral Women
Soroptimist International’s Founder Region Fellowship aims to advance the status of women through financial support to doctoral candidates. Since 1948, Soroptimist has awarded over $1.5 million to 350 women. Recipients have the potential to become leaders in their fields where women are often under-represented. Awardees’ disciplines may also seek to improve the status of women, girls, or society. International students may apply. Deadline is January 10, 2023. Recruiting Student Participants for Economic Experiments
Researchers study economic decision-making in a computer lab on campus or online. Earn money just for showing up on time, then earn more based on your decisions during the experiment! Participants make individual or group choices, which determine their payoffs. These experiments are fun and educational, and no prior knowledge of economics is required! Duration: 1 to 3 hours. All experiments have been approved by the Human Studies Program. To participate, register at: https://manoa.hawaii.edu/econexp/. The Student Media Board (SMB), is recruiting for leadership positions in UH Productions and Ka Leo for the 2022-2023 academic year. Applicants must be available for a minimum of two (2) hours per day and a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week and must be able to demonstrate leadership with program-related content and function. UROP Opportunities
Presentation Funding for Undergraduate Students ($2000–$5000)
UROP coordinates and promotes research and creative work opportunities for UHM undergraduate students in all disciplines. UROP invites students who are conducting or have conducted faculty-mentored research or creative work to submit a proposal for Presentation Funding, which provides funds to present their project or perform at a local, national, or international conference/event, in-person or virtually.
