Here is a helpful checklist for the current semester. Carefully read these items, and complete the ones relative to you during the recommended time periods. This will keep your semester stress-free. Be mindful of the deadlines. If you have any questions, please contact your advisor.

November 11, 2026	Holiday: Veterans Day (Non-instructional Day)
November 16 to 20, 2026	Registration assignments begin: Continuing Classified (currently enrolled, internal transfers and returnees with 30+ credits)
November 26, 2026	Holiday: Thanksgiving Day (Non-instructional Day)
November 27, 2026	Non-instructional Day
November 30 to December 4, 2026	Registration assignments begin: Incoming classified (newly accepted freshmen, external transfers, internal transfers and returnees with 0-29.99 credits)
December 7, 2026	Registration begins: All Unclassified (non-degree seeking students)
December 25, 2026	Holiday: Christmas Day (Non-instructional Day)
January 1, 2027	Holiday: New Year's Day (Non-instructional Day)
January 8, 2027	Payment Receipt Deadline
January 11, 2027	Semester begins! Late Registration begins (single $30 system-wide late fee) UH Employee Faculty & Staff registration begins
January 18, 2027	Holiday: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Non-instructional Day)
January 19, 2027 11:59pm HST	Deadline to: Register for a course Register to audit a course Change course grading mode & variable credits Drop a course for 100% tuition refund Submit change of major/minor requests for Spring 2027
February 3, 2027	Deadline to: Drop a course without a "W" grade Drop a course for 50% tuition refund Submit UH Employee tuition waivers
February 4 to March 29, 2027	Restricted Withdrawal Period (with a "W" grade, 0% tuition refund) via STAR GPS
February 12, 2027	Spring 2027 Graduates: Deadline to file for Graduation and Commencement Book Name Inclusion
February 15, 2027	Holiday: President's Day (Non-instructional Day)
March 1 to May 1, 2027	Online registration opens for the Spring 2027 Commencement Ceremony
March 15 to 19, 2027	Spring Recess
March 26, 2027	Holiday: Kūhiō Day (Non-instructional Day) Holiday: Good Friday (Non-instructional Day)
March 29, 2027 11:59pm HST	Deadline to drop a course (with a "W" grade, 0% tuition refund)
April 1, 2027	Deadline to: Submit an "I" grade removal for Fall 2026 Apply for credit by Examination
April 2, 2027	Theses and Dissertations due to Graduate Division
May 5, 2027	Last Day of Instruction
May 6 to 7, 2027	Study Period
May 10 to 14, 2027	Final Examination Period
May 14, 2027	Semester ends & Degree Conferral date
May 15, 2027	Commencement: Please see Commencement website for ceremony information
May 18, 2027 4:00pm HST	Faculty Grade Submission Deadline
May 19, 2027	Grades available via STAR GPS
