First Year Programs is hiring ACE Peer Mentors for Fall 2025, and they are looking for people who have a leadership mindset, take initiative, and are willing to teach a UNIV 110 course! The pay is $21.25/hr. Apply to become an ACE Peer Mentor!

SACNAS Conference Travel Grants & Research Proposals

Apply for funding to present or attend the 2025 National Diversity in STEM Conference (October 30–November 1) in Columbus, OH. Deadline: March 28. Details at the SACNAS Conference website.

Hawaiʻi Pacific Foundation Doctoral Research Award

Up to $20,000 to promote educational access for Native Hawaiians or support doctoral students to research advancing commitment/contribution to issues important to the Native Hawaiian community. Deadline: May 31.

ForagerOne for Undergraduate Students

Are you a UH Mānoa student interested in doing research/creative work but don’t have a mentor? UROP invites UH Mānoa students to create a ForagerOne profile to network with potential research/creative work mentors. Attend an information session to learn more!

Presentation Funding for Undergraduate Students ($2,000–$5,000)

UROP invites UH Mānoa students interested in sharing their mentored research/creative work at a local, national, or international conference/event to submit a proposal and request funding for travel, stipend, etc. UROP encourages applying 3 months prior to the presentation date. Attend an information session to learn more!

Resume and Cover Letter Writing

Real-world professionals discuss ways to build and organize the content of impactful résumés and cover letters. Students will learn how to describe responsibilities and accomplishments, both academic and professional, as well as receive advice about formatting and presentation. The discussion will cater to students at all stages in their professional journeys, whether first-time job seekers or experienced employees. Registration is required.

Best Practice for Oral and Poster Presentation

UROP and Honors Program staff members will introduce students to two different formats for professional presentations: oral and poster. The discussion will cover how to design and format slides and posters, best practices for speaking to the audience, and what to expect during a Q&A session. Students will learn how to effectively create their first professional presentation and how to refine existing presentations. Registration is required.
