Learning in the Environment

Sara Stupplebeen, Reporter – So far, the 4-H Wolves have participated in four activities. First on October 5th, we took part in an oama fishing tournament and had so much fun at Kanaha Beach. Second we held our first meeting and also had a guest speaker, Skylar Decker, who talked to us about fishing and a craft called Gyotaku, which is printing images of fish with ink which we later did.

Third, we had a meeting and had two guest speakers, Abby Haneke and Andrew Sitlinger, talk to us about Environmental Science and managing storm water and runoff. We learned so much and also found some volunteers opportunities for the future.

We participated in Operation Shoe Box with Grace Bible Church and made over 100 boxes that will go out to children around the world. We also helped pack gift bags for children that have been affected by the Lahaina wild fires.

Finally, we made fabulous pumpkins as prizes for the Maui County 4H Halloween event.
