4-H Historic Marker Dedication on Maui
On January 25, a plaque commemorating 107 years of the 4-H youth development program in Hawaiʻi was dedicated on Maui near the site of the state’s first 4-H club. In 1918, visionary agriculturist and diversified farming advocate Frederick Krauss founded Hawaiʻi’s first 4-H club, the Boys’ Swine Club, which welcomed 31 young members from Maui near Haʻikū at the New Era Homestead. Maui County 4-H Achievement
On Sunday, June 30, 2024, the Maui County 4-H Youth Officers hosted the Maui County 4-H County Achievement event. This year end event provides an opportunity for clubs to share their achievements for the year with one other, the recognition of graduating 4-H seniors and long-time volunteers, the announcement of the delegates from Hawaii to National 4-H Congress, and the induction of new club officers.
