2025 Video Cooking Contest Now Open
The 2025 Hawai’i Video Cooking Contest is sponsored by the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resilience‘s Hawai’i 4-H and GET Local programs. The contest is open to any student who lives in the State of Hawai’i in grade or is connected to the Hawai’i-supported OCONUS 4-H sites. Participants must be in grades 5-12 and are not required to be a member of Hawai’i 4-H. On January 25, a plaque commemorating 107 years of the 4-H youth development program in Hawaiʻi was dedicated on Maui near the site of the state’s first 4-H club. In 1918, visionary agriculturist and diversified farming advocate Frederick Krauss founded Hawaiʻi’s first 4-H club, the Boys’ Swine Club, which welcomed 31 young members from Maui near Haʻikū at the New Era Homestead.
