Bookstore Fall Extended Hours

The bookstore has extended Its hours and will now be operating from 8am–5:30pm from Monday to Thursday, 8am–4:30pm on Fridays, and 9am–1pm on Saturdays. They will remain closed on Sundays and state holidays.

Student Media Needs Members

Join the Student Media Board as a student representative for a 2-year term. Develop skills in leadership, budgeting, policymaking, and more. Shape media programs and make an impact. Applications are open and available online here.

Field School: Climate Adaptation at Moku o Loʻe Islet

Phoebe White and Dr. Priyam Das are organizing a Bowers + Kubota-sponsored field school on Moku o Loʻe Islet from Oct 28–29. Graduate students will explore climate adaptation scenarios for Point Labs. Apply by October 11.

IBUILD Graduate Research Fellowship

The Department of Energy’s IBUILD Fellowship strengthens and diversifies scholars for research-intensive careers in decarbonization. Includes a $35,000 stipend, tuition support, and more. Info session Oct. 10th. Deadline: December 1st.

Mirikitani Outstanding Dissertation Award 2023–2024

The Mirikitani Outstanding Dissertation Award recognizes exceptional doctoral dissertation work encouraging and recognizing extraordinary scholarly research. Eligibility criteria and application available via STAR Scholarship; keyword Mirikitani Dissertation. Deadline: October 15.

Tria Kerkvliet Southeast Asia Studies Graduate Fellowship

PhDs finishing their dissertation writing related to Southeast Asia could receive $1500 for 2023–2024. Preference for History or Political Science candidates. Apply by October 15 via STAR Scholarship: keyword “Kerkvliet”.

NSFIRES: Immersive research in Galápagos

Apply by October 31 for an undergraduate research opportunity in island invasion biology. A Spring course merges scientific exploration with Hawaiian wisdom, followed by a Galápagos research expedition in Summer!

Are you a student interested in doing research/creative work but don’t have a faculty mentor? UROP invites students to create a ForagerOne profile to network with potential research/creative work faculty mentors. Attend an information session to learn more!

Entering Research and Creative Work (ERC) Funding for Undergraduate Students ($1,500–$3,000)

UROP invites students with little to no research/creative work experience to submit a simple application (no proposal required!) with a faculty mentor to receive a stipend and explore what doing research/creative work is like. Fall/Spring application cycles available. Attend an information session to learn more!

Project Funding for Undergraduate Students ($5,000–$10,000)

UROP invites students planning to conduct faculty-mentored research/creative work to submit a proposal and request funding for materials, travel, stipend, etc. Fall/Spring application cycles available. Attend an information session to learn more!

Presentation Funding for Undergraduate Students ($2,000–$5,000)

UROP invites students interested in presenting their research/creative work at a local, national, or international conference/event to submit a proposal and request funding for travel, stipend, etc. UROP encourages applying 3 months prior to the presentation date. Attend an information session to learn more!
