Design the Catalog Cover Contest

Students: You can win $500 by designing the next Mānoa Catalog cover. Create a visually exciting catalog design and main graphic for the annual general catalog for University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Prepare “working” drafts of the design for approval by the Catalog Committee. Payment of $500 will be sent upon completion of the project for the final design. Submissions will be reviewed by the Mānoa Catalog Committee and they will notify a finalist to submit final files. All final submissions will become the property of the Mānoa Catalog Office. The deadline to submit entries is Monday, January 30.

UH Venture Competition (UHVC)

The UHVC is an intense, semester-long, experiential program that provides hands-on education, mentorship and resources to University of Hawaiʻi students and faculty. Teams compete to win a grand prize of $10,000 cash plus thousands in other prizes in support of their venture. The 2023 competition is generously sponsored by American Savings Bank. Register by 12:00 pm on February 8.

Calvin Shindo Student Venture Fund (CSSVF)

The Calvin Shindo Student Venture Fund is a venture capital fund for early-stage University of Hawaiʻi-affiliated companies. As a student-run program, CSSVF enables students to become the investor and scout for and invest in real companies. CSSVF also provides up to $5000 to those seeking funding for their University of Hawaiʻi-affiliated start-up. Apply now to serve as a Student Director, or apply by February 24 for the Spring 2023 funding cycle.

PACE Student Leaders Scholarships and Awards

The Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship (PACE) is currently seeking student applications for the PACE Leaders program. PACE leaders will coordinate various programs, events and activities that engage students from all disciplines of study. Benefits include scholarships and awards from $1,000 – $6,000 (for those eligible) and the opportunity to learn project management, event coordination, marketing, and more. Apply by the priority deadline on January 15 or on a rolling basis thereafter.

Killam Fellowships Program 2023-24 Application Information Session

Please join Dr. Ulla Hasager for a Killam Fellowship Information session on Tuesday, January 10 from 4:00pm-5:00pm at Dean Hall 6 or via zoom (email intern@hawaii.edu for zoom link). Killam Fellowships support exceptional undergraduate American students for one semester or a full academic year studying at a university in Canada either as a Direct Exchange Student or a Self-placed Visiting Student. Award value: 5,000 USD per semester, allowance to offset the cost of health insurance, and other benefits. Apply by the UH Mānoa internal application deadline: 1/20/23. New Opportunity for UH Research Community

Please join the UH Office of Innovation and Commercialization (OIC) for an informational webinar on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 9 a.m. to learn about a new program, Patents2Products, launching this fall. This is a unique fellowship opportunity for PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers to develop entrepreneurship skills and increase innovation capacity while advancing the development and commercialization of impact-driven technologies at the University of Hawaiʻi. In this information session, program details, application process and key dates will be discussed, along with any questions from attendees. Graduate Fellowship for International Affairs

Each year DACOR offers graduate fellowships for study toward a Master’s Degree in international affairs. Master’s students currently enrolled in their first year at UH Mānoa whose degree relates to international issues, are U.S. citizens, and intend on pursuing a career in foreign affairs are eligible to apply. RCUH Doctoral Student Fellowship

The Research Corporation of the University of Hawaiʻi Graduate Fellowship supports full-time, doctoral students enrolled in a Graduate Division program. Applicants must be in good academic standing. Funds may be used towards costs associated with attendance, including dissertation completion and will be disbursed in the 2023-2024 academic year. Students may apply via the STAR Scholarship site and use keywords “Research Corporation” to search for the application. Deadline to apply is February 15, 2023.

UH Mānoa Graduate Student Fellowships

The Dai Ho Chun Fund for Graduate Fellowships supports outstanding graduate students in good academic standing who are enrolled at least part-time in any Graduate Division program. Funds may be used for travel if all institutional balances have been paid. Fellowship will be administered for the 2023-2024 school year. Students may apply via the STAR Scholarship site and use keywords “Dai Ho Chun” to search for the application. Deadline to apply is February 15, 2023.
