March 25, 2020

Aloha UH Mānoa students,

As you may have seen in an earlier message from the university today, the last day to withdraw with a “W” grade this semester has been changed from this Friday, March 27, to Thursday, April 30, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.

To help with the process, the online drop system is being reopened so you can virtually withdraw with a zero percent refund, without securing signatures. A “W” with no credit will appear on your transcript.

Please reach out to your advisors, counselors and/or faculty for assistance regarding your academic decisions, to check on the impact a “W” may have on summer and/or fall registration and to understand  the effects it might have on any financial aid package you have received. We wanted to provide you with additional time to adjust to the new online delivery mode of courses before having to make the difficult decision of withdrawing.

This message was also sent to faculty and staff for situational awareness. Thank you everyone for your patience during this unprecedented health crisis.

Best wishes for the remainder of your semester.

Michael Bruno
UH Mānoa Provost
