Each year, UH Mānoa Commuter Services welcomes hundreds of thousands of graduates, family members, and friends celebrating the exciting milestone of commencement. Graduates and attendees are strongly advised to arrive early, utilize carpool and rideshare options, and keep informed of parking restrictions.

FAQs

The following graduation ceremonies will be hosted and/or will utilize parking stalls at UH Mānoa. Commuters should be prepared for high traffic volumes in the UH Mānoa community before, during, and after ceremonies on the dates listed below.

Graduation ceremonies will be held in the Stan Sheriff Center.

Lei ceremonies will take place at the Les Murakami Stadium following the formal ceremony.

Commuter Services does not coordinate logistics for any commencement activities. Please contact schools directly for details.

Drop-off and pick-up locations are designated for rideshare services (e.g., Uber, Lyft, etc) only. Designated locations vary by graduation event. Please click the tiles above or contact Commuter Services for more information.

Non-rideshare vehicles will not be permitted to drop off or pick up in these zones. Drivers entering these zones will not have access to the Lower Campus Parking Structure.

Guests who are only attending the lei ceremony have the same parking options as those attending the formal commencement ceremony. Please be advised that parking is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Stan Sheriff Center policy prohibits:

  • Large bags including purses and backpacks (the clear bag policy does not apply to UH and public high school commencement ceremonies)
  • Strollers
  • Placards and signs
  • Balloons
  • Beach balls
  • Confetti/streamers
  • Pets (excluding service animals)
Les Murakami Stadium policy prohibits:

  • Strollers
  • Balloons
  • Large signs
  • Confetti/streamers
  • Shoes with sharp/pointy soles (i.e., stiletto heels, metal cleats, etc.)

Please support UH Mānoa’s sustainability efforts by leaving plastic lei containers at home or bringing lei in a reusable bag to help reduce the high volume of trash that takes up our garbage cans.
