For more than 80 years, the Thompson School of Social Work & Public Health, Department of Social Work has been committed to social justice and health equity for the peoples of Hawaiʻi and the Nation. We believe in collective action to educate our students, we collaborate with social welfare/health professionals in the pursuit of social justice, and we conduct nationally funded research with a focus on Hawaiʻi and the Asia Pacific Region. Our faculty have research collaborations with individuals in more than 40 national and international universities.

Office of Public Health Studies Research
Faculty in the Thompson School of Social Work & Public Health, Office of Public Health Studies are involved in numerous research projects that span a wide range of public health topics. Nearly all faculty members enjoy collaborative research relationships with public and private organizations. These relationships have benefited both the student and the program faculty.
