The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
Department of Social Work
The Department of Social Work’s Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Council on Social Work Education. The council is the national accrediting body for professional schools of social work.
The Department’s bachelor and master’s programs have each received a full eight-year reaccreditation from the Council on Social Work Education. In addition, the bachelor’s program received approval for an inaugural undergraduate distance education option effective in the 2018 fall semester.

Office of Public Health Studies
The Office of Public Health Studies (OPHS) is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), an independent agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit schools and programs of public health.
Our last CEPH site visit was held in September 2023, and the program received full accreditation for seven years. For accreditation by CEPH, programs are required to conduct a self-study and submit a report that addresses all qualifying criteria.
