![UHM undergraduate students are at the forefront of our minds as we implement this exciting change. The expanded UROP mentor eligibility criteria are expected to increase the number of eligible mentors for students by almost 60%, thereby making research/creative work a more accessible component of the undergraduate experience at UHM. Our broadened criteria also aim to empower mentors who would not otherwise be able to formally mentor UROP-funded students.](https://manoa.hawaii.edu/undergrad/urop/wp-content/uploads/elementor/thumbs/2024S_Mentor-Eligibility-Carousel-1-qiihdo0u48hv3mypq3yr2j6clpkhqdwubkiep9eh1s.png)
