Christine Beaule, PhD
Languages and Literatures of Europe and the Americas Department
Director of General Education Office

Christine D. Beaule is Director of the General Education Office at UH Mānoa, and associate professor in the Latin American and Iberian Studies program in the Department of Languages and Literatures of Europe and the Americas. Her teaching and research focus on comparative, interdisciplinary approaches to the archaeology and history of Spanish colonialism in the Andes and Southeast Asia, and the indigenous cultures of Latin America. Christine’s work in undergraduate education and research at UHM have focused on teaching in the Honors Program, serving as founding editor of Mānoa Horizons, and committee work in general education, critical thinking and information literacy.
