An E-Book on the 10-year development of a highly efficient institutional research office
From January 2021 to October 2022, the Mānoa Institutional Research Office (MIRO) offered a series of Virtual Symposiums to expand engagement with audiences both within and outside of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. MIRO designed the symposiums as a way to share its interactive data tools and key initiatives with higher education decision makers. The series focused on twelve different institutional research-related topics, where dozens of speakers–all experts in their respective fields–presented alongside MIRO to share their valuable insights and demonstrate their wonderful work. This collaborative effort created a unique and enriching resource for institutional researchers and other higher education professionals who are interested in symposium topics. Hundreds of higher education professionals and researchers from all over the world attended the symposiums live. Based on the positive feedback and requests to rewatch the sessions, MIRO created a Recorded Video Gallery and an Apple Podcast for the 12 symposiums sessions.
On January 30, 2023, MIRO launched an E-Book based on the office’s symposium presentations. It documents the journey that MIRO took to address bottleneck issues that prevent the campus community from gaining equal access to reliable, actionable, and easy-to-digest data. Additionally, this E-Book illuminates in detail the skills, tools, and strategies the office uses to create a highly efficient IR office.
