If you did not get accepted into law school, you can always reapply! This page will detail steps to help you reapply to law school.

1. Get ready to apply again

  • First, IF allowed by the schools to which you applied, contact the schools and ask for any feedback, specifically about which areas of your application you need to strengthen. To see if a school allows this, check your decision letter. If the letter does not discourage reaching out to admissions staff, you may consider drafting a highly professional email to their department requesting an appointment.
    • In your appointments, take extensive notes. This will be the basis for re-working your application materials. Please complete this step before reaching out to a pre-law peer advisor.
  • Next, consider any areas in your application that could be strengthened:
    • Was your GPA or LSAT score on the lower end?
    • Did your résumé have significant gaps?
    • Were your personal statement, résumé, and other application materials poor representations of yourself?

2. Rework your application materials

The admission committee will compare your original application against your second application. They will look for growth & development.

  • Your personal statement and your résumé need to be different than the versions you originally submitted.
    • Your personal statement needs to be, at a minimum, significantly reworded.
    • Your résumé should show professional or personal development (this may include new experiences or a continuation of already listed experiences).

3. Make an appointment with a pre-law peer advisor

PAC is here to help you! Make an appointment with a pre-law peer advisor to go over your re-application materials.
