In the 2024 fall semester, the Hawai’i Institute of Geophysics and Planetology (HIGP) will start a new program of EPET courses leading to a minor and/or certificate in Human Space Flight Technology. The first Human Space Flight Technology sequence course, EPET/ME 201, will be taught in the 2024 fall semester as a prerequisite to enter EPET 321 in the 2025 spring semester.

The Earth and Planetary Exploration Technology and Human Space Flight Technology courses provide an unequaled opportunity for UHM students to engage with the next big thing: the expansion of human presence into Low-Earth Orbit, to the Moon and Mars.
