UH Contemporary Music Ensemble Thomas Osborne, director The UH Contemporary Music Ensemble presents a program highlighting the colorful mosaic of music written in recent decades. The program includes John Adams's Hallelujah Junction for two pianos; Libby Larsen's Barn Dances for flute, clarinet and piano; and Morton Feldman's The Viola in My Life II for viola and six instrumentalists. Pau Hana Concert Students of the Music Department's ethnomusicology area music and dance ensembles present their end of semester performances, including Korean dance, Okinawan dance, Japanese music (gagaku and koto), Japanese dance, Chinese music, Javanese gamelan, Philippine dance, Tahitian dance, and Hawaiian hula and chant. The performance begins in Orvis Auditorium and after intermission moves to the Barbara Smith Amphitheater. Free admission.
