The University of Hawai‘i Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of David M. Blon, is one of the newest chamber ensembles in the UH Music Department. Our repertoire includes standard literature for percussion, contemporary music, commissions, student compositions, marimba ensemble, group improvisation, Drum Circle, and Latin/world percussion styles. In recent years the Percussion Ensemble has performed in collaboration with the UH Saxophone Choir, directed by Todd Yukumoto. In 2012, UH Mānoa hosted the Percussive Arts Society’s Hawai‘i-based Day of Percussion.
