Cancellation of Fall 2020 Inbound & Outbound Exchange Programs
We regret to share that, after careful deliberation, the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa has made the difficult decision to cancel all inbound and outbound exchange programs for the fall semester of the 2020-21 academic year.
Although this is an outcome we were hoping to avoid, the decision was made with the best interest of students and our partner universities in mind, considering the uncertainties that continue to surround the public health situation worldwide, travel and immigration restrictions, the availability of in-person and online courses at UHM and our partner universities abroad, and increased housing limitations as a result of physical distancing measures. This is disappointing news for all of us, especially our students, but it was necessary for this decision to be made as soon as possible in order to give our students enough time to make alternate plans for the fall and subsequent terms.
In the coming days, we will be sharing more information regarding this decision with prospective participants and partners, as well as the UH community. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
- If you are a prospective OUTBOUND student, please contact outbound@hawaii.edu.
- If you are a prospective INBOUND student, please contact inbound@hawaii.edu.
- For general inquiries, please contact uhmix@hawaii.edu.
Once again, we would like to share our sincerest regrets and apologies with all of you. We hope we will still be able to help you achieve your study abroad goals in Spring 2021 or in the near future.
