Update: Summer 2020 Outbound Exchange Programs

We regret to inform you that the University of Hawaii has made the difficult decision to cancel all  Summer 2020 MIX programs due to the continuing spread of COVID-19. We have made this decision for the safety and well-being of our students and partners. Several Summer exchanges have already cancelled on their own accord, and we anticipate many more, if not all, to follow.
Please accept our apologies, and we hope that you will apply again next summer. MIX has not charged any programs fees to summer students, so you do not need to apply for a refund from us. However, if you have paid any deposits to your summer program, please let us know and we can work with you to receive your refund.
There is still time to register for Summer Outreach courses, registration continues until the deadline to add a course. Summer Session classes that are held between May 26 and July 3, will be online only. Students enrolled for summer courses are eligible and can still apply for financial aid.
If you have already booked airline tickets or accommodation, please contact them directly about cancellation policies and refunds as many hotels/airlines are being more open to providing refunds or credits given the circumstances.
We hope you understand that this decision was not made lightly and was made with the intention of protecting the health and safety of our community to the fullest extent possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our office. We will do our best to answer any questions you have as soon as we can.
