The Honolulu Museum of Art is hosting The Bollywood and South Asia Film Festival now through January 27. UH News: “The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Library has been actively acquiring rare and historic maps of Asia, creating a valuable resource for students, faculty and researchers. The recent additions to the collection was inspired with the purchase of a 1926 map of Manchuria in 2018, which is now on permanent display in the Asia reading room of Hamilton Library.”

The deadline for our Call for Papers for our upcoming Spring Symposium 2024 is January 31. The symposium aims to provide a platform for scholars and visionaries to engage in discussion, share insight and explore the diverse dimensions of futures as imagined, and as people have striven to realize them, from South Asian perspectives, including diaspora and transnational perspectives.

AIIS – Summer Student Fellowships for Digital Sonic and Visual Projects

Individuals ages 18 years or older who are of South Asian descent and live in the United States. South Asian Body Image (SABI) StudyThe University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Department of Psychology and Neuroscience is recruiting individuals who are of South Asian descent and ages 18 years or older, living in the United States. This study involves completing an online survey (paper survey available upon request) expected to take 25-35 minutes to complete. This survey covers topics such as body image, eating patterns, demographics, stress, acculturation, and social media, among others.
