Recital Attendance, MUS 199
MUS 199 (Recital Attendance) is a required course for all music majors in the following degree programs:
- Bachelor of Arts
- Bachelor of Education (Music)
- Bachelor of Music
Degree Requirements Each student must attend six (6) approved performances per semester. The number of semesters depends upon your degree program.
- BA four (4) semesters
- BEd Music four (4) semesters
- BM six (6) semesters
Register
Although MUS 199 is graded credit/no credit (CR/NC), you must be registered in the course. The Music Department Chair is the course administrator.
Attendance
Approved performances are listed on the Music Department website. Click here for a list of MUS 199–valid events. Music students may be required to purchase a ticket to attend certain performances. There is no special or additional discount for MUS 199 students.
Procedure (Scan In, Attend, Scan Out)
- SCAN IN
Before the performance, present your valid UH ID at the box office, purchase a ticket if necessary, and present UH ID for staff to scan. Scan-in may begin after box office has opened (usually about an hour before the event) but must occur before concert begins. - ATTEND
Attend the complete performance. - SCAN OUT
After the performance, return immediately to the box office where staff will scan your ID again.
Remember, to receive MUS 199 credit for attending the performance:
- you must be registered for the course
- you must scan in and scan out for each performance
