Megann Salā

Graduate Assistant


Megann Salā is a music education graduate from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. While in college, she sang in the studios of Megan Mount and Maya Hoover and participated in all the choir ensembles (University Chorus, Hawaiian Chorus, Concert Choir, and Chamber Singers). She also participated in several Hawaii Opera Theater productions (Dialogue of the Carmelites, Turandot, and Sweeney Todd).

Since graduating, Megann has been a member of the National Association for Music Education, the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, and the American Choral Directors Association. She is currently an assistant director for the Hawaiʻi Youth Opera Chorus, a community children’s chorus focused on music education through world music and Native Hawaiian culture, and Nā Wai Chamber choir, UH Mānoaʻs ensemble in residence dedicated to the preservation, propagation, and innovation of Hawaiian choral music.

Megann returns to the music department to pursue her Master’s of Music in Choral Conducting.
