Overview:

The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) exchange program offers an excellent education at one of Australia’s quality teaching universities, combined with a rich, exciting learning experience in Australia’s global city – Sydney. UTS welcomes more than 1000 study abroad and exchange students each year from around the world. With around 40,600 students from 120 different countries, UTS is a reflection of Sydney’s multi-cultural diversity. The international standing of UTS is reflected in its university rankings, which include being named among the top 50 universities worldwide for “international outlook” by Times Higher Education. UTS also ranks first in Australia in the “QS top 50 under 50” and Times Higher Education’s “Top 150 under 50.” Students at UTS benefit from learning and collaborating in state-of-the-art facilities, which provide a vibrant campus environment where students can study and relax. Located in the heart of Sydney, UTS is also in easy walking distance to Sydney CBD and Central Station, Sydney’s major transport hub.

Academic Details:

At UTS your learning experience may be quite different by emphasizing a student-centered approach. UTS does this through collaborative projects, real-life case studies, and the integration of technology into everyday teaching. UTS offers study abroad and exchange subjects for undergraduate and postgraduate level studies in the following faculties: Arts and Social Sciences (Communication, Education; International Studies;, Business; Design, Architecture, and Building; Engineering & Information Technology; Health; Law; Science; and Trans-disciplinary Innovation. Housing Details:

UTS students can choose from 4 residences, all of which are close to campus. All UTS residences have spacious communal and barbecue areas, study rooms, games, and computer rooms. Yura Mudang also has a music room, and Gumal Ngurang has a garden rooftop. All UTS residences are self-catered, secure, and competitively priced. All bedrooms are for 1 person (except twin shares), with shared kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas. Apartments are fully furnished, and rent includes gas, electricity, water, and cabled internet in bedrooms and limited wireless internet access in communal areas. You will need to provide your own bed linen and cooking equipment. Due to the high volume of accommodation requests, UTS Housing has also sourced reserved beds for students with off-campus providers (Urbanest, Unilodge and Iglu). (Source: “UTS – University of Technology Sydney – International Study Abroad and Exchange”)

Eligibility:

  • Sophomore standing at time of application
  • 2.5 cumulative GPA
