Overview:

Keio University Summer Program allows students to study in Tokyo, Japan alongside Keio students while fully experiencing Japanese culture and everyday life in Tokyo. The program is a quarter long lasting two months during June and July. The University has a long history in Japan, being founded over 150 years ago as Japan’s first private institution of higher learning. Today it continues to strive for innovation in education, research, and medicine.

Academic Details:

Students are required to take 4 (minimum) to 8 (maximum) courses during the quarter. Each course counts for 2 credits, except for Japanese language courses which will count as 1 credit each. Classes in a number of subjects are available, including Arts, Business and Economy, Culture and Cross-cultural Understanding, History, Law, Religion and Thought, Social Issues, and Japanese Language. A schedule of the class times will be made available closer to the start of the session.

Housing Details:

The University does not provide dormitory accommodation, so students are responsible for arranging their own accommodation during the term.

Eligibility:

  • Sophomore standing
  • 2.5 cumulative GPA
