Overview:
The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is the territory’s oldest institute of higher learning and also an internationally recognized, research led, comprehensive university. Academic Details:
English is the language of instruction, except in the case of courses offered by the Department of Chinese. Students are required to take a minimum of 24 credits (6 credits per course in general) to a maximum of 30 credits per semester. At least 3 courses (worth 18 credits) must be chosen from one single faculty, with the remaining credits from other faculties. (For Faculty of Business and Economics, the minimum and maximum credits is 6 and 30 respectively.) Note to Business Students: CUHK is AACSB accredited. Housing Details:
Exchange students will have accommodation on-campus depending on availability. Dorms are co-ed, but rooms are same-sex. Most rooms are doubles – only St. John’s College, Ricci Hall, and HKU Residential Colleges provide very limited single rooms. All rooms have wireless internet access. Eligibility:
- Sophomore standing
- Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA (3.0 GPA for business and economics, 3.3 GPA for law)
