- Honolulu Star Advertiser — Hawai‘i’s largest circulation newspaper, from June 2010. The earlier newspapers, the Honolulu Advertiser and the Honolulu Star Bulletin, must be accessed separately.
- Honolulu Civil Beat— devoted to politics and local news. The first couple of articles are free, but a subscription is required for full access.
- Pacific Business News — news site focusing on business in Hawai‘i.
- Chronicling America (Library of Congress) – includes newspapers from Hawai‘i.
- Honolulu Weekly (Archives) — issues from 1991 – 2013 focused on arts, entertainment, and politics.
- Hawaii Star — independent online news service established in 1994.
- The Pacific Islands Report — news affecting Pacific communities living in Hawai‘i. Use the “Archives” search to look for material from 1997 to present.
