Ka Huli Ao and the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands: Water Law & Advocacy Training for Hawaiian Homestead Communities
On Saturday, June 16, Ka Huli Ao conducted its third training in Haʻikū, Maui. Professor Kapua Sproat ’98, Post-JD Fellow Mahina Tuteur ’14, recent graduate Mahesh Cleveland ’18 and rising 3L Luʻukia Nakanelua ’19 presented on the rights and responsibilities of DHHL beneficiaries and discussed specific ways homestead communities can advocate for the pono use and protection of wai.

The next trainings will be on August 15 in Anahola, Kauaʻi and August 16 in Kekaha, Kauaʻi.
