On Saturday, March 31, 2018, Native Hawaiian Student Services (NHSS) hosted an Admitted Hawaiian Student Reception for prospective incoming Hawaiian freshmen and transfer students to the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. According to NHSS, “Our campus is continually welcoming more and more incoming Hawaiian students every year. Last year a little under 1,000 Hawaiian students were admitted to UHM and about 650 of those students joined the UHM community this year.” This event showcased various programs available on campus that support and enrich student lives. Ka Huli Ao was proud to be included as part of this event as we welcomed 60 students and their ʻohana to our campus. A total of 140 people attended and Letani Peltier, Post-J.D. Legal Fellow, and Avis Kuuipoleialoha Poai, Director of Student Outreach, were on hand to help answer questions about Ka Huli Ao and law school.
