Native Hawaiian Law Training for National Park Service Leaders

  • Ka Huli Ao partnered with Melia Lane Kamahele, manager of the U.S. Dept. of the Interior National Park Service’s Pacific West Region, to provide a two-day training for superintendents and key managers from all of Hawaiʻi’s National Parks. Featuring presentations by Professors Melody MacKenzie, David Forman, Kapua Sproat, and Malia Akutagawa on four substantive areas of the law: the Public Land Trust, Traditional and Customary Rights, Water and the Public Trust Doctrine, and Iwi Kūpuna. Professor Davianna McGregor gave a lecture on Hawaiian History: Foundations for Kuleana.
