1.     Print Y/N

Enter “Y” to have the section appear online in Class Availability.

Enter “N” if you do not want the section to appear in Class Availability.

2.     Restrictions & Approval

To add a restriction or approval to a section.

3.     Course Reference Number (CRN)

If you are making changes to an existing course, enter the section’s CRN. Only leave this field blank when you are adding a new section.

4.     Subject

List the subject area of the course.  This is a four-character field, e.g., PHRM for Pharmacology.

5.     Course Number

The number used to identify the course content and title as listed in the  Catalog.  This includes any alpha suffix used by special topics, honors, and other special designated courses.

6.     Section

If you are offering multiple sections of a single course, the section number will control the order in which the sections appear in Class Availability.

7.     Schedule Type

HTI = Hybrid-Technology Intensive
LEC = Lecture
LAB = Laboratory
LED = Lecture/Discussion combined
LEL = Lecture/Lab combined
DIS = Discussion
DRR = Directed Reading & Research
SEM = Seminar
THE = Thesis/Dissertation
PRA = Field Experience/Practicum

Refer to the approved UHM-1 or UHM-2 for Schedule Type codes.

8.     Group Code

The Group Code will be assigned by the Scheduling Office. This code identifies a set of sections that are crosslisted or concurrent (i.e., they meet in the same classroom at the same time, with the same instructor). If you are adding or editing a section that should be crosslisted or concurrent, please write a note either on this form or in an attached email or memo. This will let us know that we need to add a crosslist code, or be sure to make the same edits to the cross-listed sections.

9.     Group Max

The Group Max is only needed for cross-listed and concurrent courses. This sets the maximum number of students allowed to register across all sections in a group of cross-listed or concurrent courses.

10.     Sec Max (Section Maximum)

The maximum number of students allowed to register in a section. The max capacity of the assigned classroom must be large enough to accommodate the section max of students.

11.     Meeting Days

The days on which the section meets:

M         =      Monday
T          =      Tuesday
W        =      Wednesday
R         =      Thursday
F           =      Friday
S           =      Saturday
TBA      =      to be arranged.

12.     Start Time

The time the section begins.

13.     End Time

The time the section ends.

14.     Mtg Line (Meeting Line)

Used only for sections with multiple meeting days or times (i.e., a lecture course with additional lab or quiz sections), to indicate which meeting line you want to update.

15.     Building & Room

If you want to request a general use classroom assignment, leave these fields BLANK.
If you want to use a department owned room, either enter TBA, or the specific building a room number if you already know where it will be held. Please use your own rooms whenever possible.

16.     Instructor’s ID

Instructor’s Banner ID or OR Username.

17.     Instructor’s Name (Last, First & Middle Initial)

List the instructor’s last name and first name.

18.     Indicator

Indicate what should be done to this section:

A       =          ADD a new section of a course
C       =          CHANGE details for an existing section
D       =          DELETE an existing section from the schedule
